Paul Becerra, 69, of Peoria, formerly of Belmont, CA, passed away at 5:35 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010, at his mother’s home in Peoria.
He was born in Peoria, on April 15, 1940, the son of Frank and Margie E. (Montgomery) Becerra. He married Sharon Harvey in 1959. She preceded him in death in May of 2009. He was also preceded in death by his father in November of 2008.
Paul is survived by his sons, Tim (Shirley) Becerra of Henderson, NV and Todd (Anna Marie) Becerra of San Jose, CA; daughter, Teri Becerra of Sunnyvale, CA; mother, Margie E. Becerra of Peoria; sisters, Sylvia Hunt of Springfield, Sharon (James) Wick of Conneaut, OH and Lynda (Les “Red”) Gates of Springfield; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the owner and operator of AAA Muffler in Belmont, CA, until his retirement and passing the business on to his son Todd.
Paul was a U.S. Army veteran, enjoyed deep sea fishing and horse racing, visiting Reno and having a good, cold beer.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services or visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to the American Red Cross for Haiti Relief Efforts.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Avenue, in Peoria.

Although I believe God has put my brother in heaven, I want to add that he has now been interred in the Mausoleum at Ressurection Cemetery in Peoria, Illinois. Mom wanted to be sure that his remains are safe. Mom loves her son very much. R.I.P brother.
